Dear ARC Readers,

By reading this book, you are not supporting the views of either The Soldier or The Civilian.

Instead, you are invited to be curious like The Civilian and keep reading.

You are also invited to be honest like The Soldier and allow yourself to feel whatever you feel about his answers.

Did The Soldier cross the line? Fire back!

Should The Civilian have crossed the line? Fire back!

Did we downright upset you? Make you laugh? Bring you to tears? Leave you feeling happy? Or shocked you? Fire back and tell us why!

This book is about difficult conversations, different perspectives, and the willingness to listen…even when we don’t agree.

After all our discussions and exchanges of differing points of view, the soldier and I are still friends. Very different people, but friends who have learned from one another by having honest conversations about difficult topics related to the military and not only.

Now, we’d love the opportunity to learn from you.

Your perspective matters. Your questions matter. And your reactions, whatever they may be, matter, too.

Don’t hold back. Tell us what you think, what you felt, and what challenged you. We may not always agree, but that’s the beauty of an honest conversation.

After all, we don’t have to see things the same way to learn something from each other.

We can’t wait to hear from you!

Yours truly,

A.C. Leo
